What is the security deposit limit in Wyoming?
Wyoming does not impose a statutory limit on the amount a landlord may charge as a security deposit. Landlords may charge any amount they deem appropriate. The lease agreement must state whether any portion of the security deposit is nonrefundable, and the landlord must provide written notice of this to the tenant at the time of collection. The landlord must return the deposit within 30 days of lease termination or eviction, or within 15 days of the tenant providing their new forwarding address, whichever is longer. Failure to return the deposit may result in the tenant recovering damages.
